Santa Catalina School is an independent day and boarding school for girls in grades 9-12, and coed day school for PreK-8.
Santa Catalina educates the whole child. Whether our students are doing hands-on science experiments, animating with the latest technology, or building a positive classroom culture, we push for those lightbulb moments through active, experiential learning. Our 36-acre campus in Monterey is filled with spaces that make it easy for our early childhood, elementary, and middle school students to explore every interest and discover what excites them.
Guided by expert faculty, our high school students are challenged and encouraged at every step in their academic journey. Our students have access to exciting opportunities, such as a Marine Ecology Research Program, and Advanced Topics courses certified by the University of California. We also offer a robust arts and athletics program, where students can practice their creative expression and compete in league and regional sports competitions.
Santa Catalina is enriched by our unique blend of an all-girls, boarding school environment and local community. Our boarding program has students from across the U.S. and the world, which gives students the chance to learn something new about different countries and cultures. Venturing off campus, students explore downtown Monterey and Carmel, and take weekend trips to San Francisco or hiking excursions in state and national parks.
